Tax Refund
When tourists purchase goods with additional tax during traveling abroad, if they do not use them and return to their home country, they can claim a "tax refund" of a certain amount of additional tax on goods purchased during their travels

Purchase goods from tax refundable stores
After purchasing goods at affiliated Tax Free store with GTF, receive tax free forms and receipts
(Single purchase amount is over KRW 30,000)

Confirmation at the airport or port terminal before leaving
When leaving, show purchased good, tax free forms, and passport to customs to get validation.
The tax refund form within the validity period can be confirmed by customs before departure
You must depart within 3 months of purchasing date

Claim Tax Refund
Get a refund by submitting customs validated tax free forms to the tax refund counters located at the airport/port and downtown
Who can get a tax refund?
Eligible Person
Non-resident and Non-income earner in korea
Eligible
Foreigner stayed in Korea less than six months
Overseas Resident (two or more years of foreign residence / less than three months of residency in Korea)
Minimum purchased amount： 30,000 KRW
Depart from Korea within three month of purchasing date

Eligible Items
All of items except for items which are banned by law for the items in question and cannot be identified with naked eyes at customs, and tax-free goods.
All refund methods can be reimbursed after customs validation(NO CUSTOMS VALIDATION NO REFUND)

All of taxable commodities except for nontarget items (clothes, shoes, bags, accessories, cosmetics, perfumes, home appliances, ginseng, red ginseng, etc.)

Items banned by law such as gun, sword, gun powder, cultural asset, and drug
Items which cannot be identified with naked eyes at customs such as food sold at restaurants after cooked and massage

How to receive Tax Refund
Cash
Airport/Port : You can get tax refund at the tax refund counter(Incheon Int’l Airport, Gimpo Int’l Airport, Gimhae Int’l Airport, Jeju Int’l Airport, Incheon Port Int’l Passenger Terminal, etc)
Downtown : You can get tax refund at the Global tax free downtown refund counter(Myeong Dong, Garosu gil, Hongdae, Gangnam and many main shopping street)
Credit card
You can get tax refund with filling up your credit card number except issuing in korea * VISA, MASTER, JCB, UNION PAY available
Alipay
Chinese tourists can get tax refund through smartphone number connecting Alipay account and Alipay app
Wechat
Chinese tourists can get tax refund through Wechat app
QQ
QQ users can be refunded into QQ wallet.

Bank of China : You can get tax refund in 10 Provinces 1,050 Branches(Beijing, Shanghai, Jilin, Gwangzhou, Tianjin, Hebei, Henan, Anhui, Heilong Jiang, Kiangsu, etc)
TRANSFOREX : Tourist can get tax refund in 18 Provinces 50 Branches in China (Beijing, Shanghai, Tianjin, Heinan, etc)
United Money : Tourist can get tax refund in Beijing int’l airport 2 terminal, 3 terminal, Dalian int’l airport
